The June 6th concert at the Weirton Event Center began with mother/daughter duo, Roz & Lynn, and featured local community members in the Tri-State Community Band. The weather was perfect for an outdoor concert!
The Weirton Event Center 2014 Summer Concert Season kicked off Friday, May 23!
Pat Heiserman opened the season at 7 p.m., followed by Easy Street Band at 8 p.m. More than 300 music lovers came out to the first FREE Friday show!

The Top of West Virginia CVB hosted the first Weirton Restaurant Tour on Feb. 18, 2014.
40 diners traveled visited four restaurants on the sold-out tour, including Fujiyama, Mario's, Undo's and Telsa's (located in the Serbian-American Cultural Center).
The first time tour was a great success and the Top of WV is looking forward to hosting another tour in the spring!
The last concert of the Summer Sizzle season was a British invasion by Beatlemania Magic! The and show was awesome and a great send off to the Weirton Event Center's Summer Sizzle Friday night concert season! Nearly 7,000 guests jammed with us this summer! Now that's HOT!
The Fourth of July Weekend is HUGE in the Top of West Virginia - festivals are held in Wellsburg and Chester, followed later in the week by a performance of the Wheeling Symphony at the Weirton Event Center and the Fourth of July parade and Summerfest in downtown Weirton!
The Hancock County Arts Council held a reception July 1 at Summit Gallery to welcome the four new artists displaying for this quarter. The artists include the late Mitchell Sagan, Sue Tate, Joan Heddle and Sandra Beitsinger.
The Top of West Virginia CVB celebrated the 150th anniversary of West Virginia's statehood with a great night at the Weirton Event Center! Johnny Staats and the Delivery Boys entertained the crowd with great harmonies and even better pickin'. Two lucky concert-goers won iPads and everyone lined up for a WV birthday cake prepared by Gus's Goodies!
Swaney Memorial, Mary H. Weir and Booke Co. libraries brought new and used books - and seven regional authors - to the Weirton Event Center on Saturday, June 15, for our first outdoor Big Ol' Book Sale.

Nearly 100 people attended the Annual Steelworkers Memorial Service, held at 9 a.m., Thursday, April 25, at the site of the Weirton Steel Memorial, at the intersection of Route 2 and Main Street in Weirton. Speakers included Brian James, ArcelorMittal USA Weirton General Manager, and John Brett, ArcelorMittal USA Executive VP of Finance, Planning and Procurement.
Earl Tuttle paid tribute to his father, Ira Tuttle, who was one of the 117 men who died in the Weirton Steel plant between 1919-1999. Enid Williams and Diana Dearth rang a bell to honor the deceased steelworkers.er.
The American Legion closed out the ceremony with taps and a gun salute. The closing song, Amazing Grace, was performed by Stephen Holt
