Newell is an unincorporated community along the Ohio River in Hancock County, WV. The area developed around the construction of the Homer Laughlin China Company, known today as the Fiesta Tableware Company. The colorful pottery is sold across the United States, but a factory tour and stop by the outlet store are only available in Newell.
Laurel Hollow Park is a key part of the community as well. Maintained by the Newell Community Improvement Coalition, this former zoo now hosts activities and events for families to enjoy.
Visitors to Newell can stay at the Holiday Inn Express, giving them easy access to nearby Tomlinson Run State Park and Mountaineer Casino and Racetrack.
