The Village of Beech Bottom is a warm and welcoming, close-knit community nestled along the Ohio River. Beech Bottom is conveniently located close to the metropolitan areas of Wheeling, Weirton, Pittsburgh, and Steubenville, but the small size provides intimacy and privacy. The small town provides a safe environment for family activities, social events, recreation, and leisure.

In 1917, the Village of Beech Bottom was created by the local steel company (now known as the Wheeling Steel Corporation) within a 300-acre area. A streetcar transported residents on the main street between the mill to the general store, post office, and churches. This street is now known as State Route 2, as follows the length of the entire Northern Panhandle of WV. Because of its ideal placement on Route 2 along the Ohio River, Beech Bottom is a highly desired location for industrial development.
