Where do you go when you’re in the mood for chicken wings? If you’re from West Virginia, you probably go to the Drover’s Inn in Wellsburg. It’s been around for a long time – the building is on the National Register of Historic Places – but that only adds charm to the experience of chowing down on the best wings you’ve ever tasted!
Tucked away outside Wellsburg, West Virginia is a historic brick building, the Drover’s Inn Restaurant and Tavern. Ask anyone – you won’t find better wings anywhere else. Drover’s Inn makes them extra crispy and extra flavorful, with tons of flavor options: Mild, Medium, Hot, Suicidal, Atomic, Hurt Me, Honey BBQ, Buffalo Garlic, Sweet Hot Oriental, Butter Garlic, Garlic Parmesan.

8 months agoOn a scale of romances to documentaries, Drover's Inn is a bodice-ripper romance. Tucked away off of Washington Pike, it's easy to miss, but it's definitely something to turnaround for. Parking is plentiful, and our group was seated quickly. While our local friends encouraged us to order the wings, I deviated for the baby back ribs, and I honestly should have stuck with the wings! The baby back ribs were dry and only saved by the sauce. Drover's Inn is so charming, and I hope to return to try the wings!

a year agoToday was our first visit and we absolutely loved it. I had the chicken wings and the fried chicken. They were perfectly prepared!!! The staff was great and the location is rich in beauty (if you enjoy historic places). I highly recommend this place to eat as well as a quick tour. 😊

2 months agoSuper busy, but that's not necessarily a negative. The place is great and everyone wants to go! Our server was fantastic. We didn't catch her name, but she was blonde and worked downstairs. The wings and fried ravioli were delicious, the desserts were such a treat, and the beer was cold! What else could you ask for? Oh, maybe atmosphere. Yeah, best atmosphere around, too. Your best bet is to call in a reservation, especially on the weekend.

a year agoNice place out of the way, great food. The service has always been good. This place is always jam packed every time we come here. The food is delicious we always get the wings. We usually get enough to take some home for the next day. We really enjoy coming here. It's not to bad of a drive to get here. Do yourself a favor and go check it out your stomach will thank you.

a month agoBeautiful historical home, parking lot is pretty tight so be careful, however, the fried pickles and pretzels are AMAZING! The have a small but decent wine selection as well as beer. The menu has options for the whole family ranging from bar food to full dinners. Tables are kind of close so busy hours get a bit loud so take that into account when going out. Good food and met Mr Cooper, the very nice owner, def stop here, Kailey was the best waitress!!
