Located along scenic Route 2, New Cumberland is the county seat of Hancock County, WV. The Hancock County Museum showcases the past local industry, included manufacturing of fire and paving brick, sewer pipe, and glassware. Tours are available at the museum by appointment.

Each September, the city hosts a Fall River Fest on the banks of the Ohio River.
