Weirton’s Second Saturdays Continue on July 12th with “Blues & Brass”

The Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau invites you to experience the soulful sounds and spirited fun of Second Saturday: Blues & Brass on Saturday, July 12th, at the Weirton Event Center. This all-day, family-friendly celebration is part of the new Second Saturday summer series, designed to bring the community together through great music, local vendors, food, and free fun.

Farmer's market at the Weirton Event Center

From 12-4 p.m., browse the Farmer’s and Artisan Market, featuring handmade goods, homemade foods, and unique finds from regional makers. A relaxing yoga and sound bath session will also take place at noon, with Devin Ashmore instruction. This session has a cost of $15 at the event, or $10 with preregistration at www.tinyurl.com/wss-yoga. Throughout the afternoon and evening, enjoy lawn games, a photo booth, and other activities.

Live music begins at 2 p.m. and features an upbeat lineup of brass, blues, and soul:
• 2:00 p.m. – The Anthony Bernardi Band
• 4:00 p.m. – Brasset Hounds
• 6:00 p.m. – Eli & The Mojo Kings

Attendees can also grab some delicious food starting at 2 p.m. This month’s food vendors include Tate’s Teas, Ohio Valley Pizza, Cousin’s Maine Lobster, and Janet’s Gelato. There will also be a beer tent with cool drinks throughout the day, and tips benefiting the Hancock and Brooke Young Professionals.

At 4:15 p.m., test your aim in the Cornhole Tournament, where teams will compete for cash prizes for the top three finishers. Entry is $20 per team, and the tournament will be double elimination. Register at the event before 3:30 p.m. or pre-register now at www.tinyurl.com/wss-cornhole.

A 50/50 raffle will be held throughout the afternoon, benefitting Madonna High School.

“Second Saturdays are all about creating a new energy and a variety of offerings in the area,” said Rachel Keeney, Executive Director of the Top of WV CVB. “Whether you come for the music, shopping, yoga, games, or just to spend a beautiful summer day with friends and family, we hope you can enjoy the day in downtown Weirton.”

The event is free to attend and will run from 12-8 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs and a friend for a full day of fun.
