Tomlinson Run State Park is located near the top of West Virginia’s northern panhandle along the Ohio River. The park features a wide array of recreational activities including hiking, fishing, boating and swimming. With unique camping accommodations, this park is one of the best camping spots in the state. In addition to traditional campsites, Tomlinson Run’s campground includes camper cabins and yurts.
Campground:
Tomlinson Run State Park’s campground is open spring through fall, weather permitting, and has a contact station, convenience store, dump station and two bathhouses with showers and laundry facilities. The campground includes 48 traditional campsites, five camper cabins and yurts.
All campsites are suitable for tents and trailers, and include picnic tables and grills fire rings. The park also has a rustic camping area ideal for Scouts.
Camper Cabins:
Tomlinson Run State Park has five camper cabins available to rent between April-October. Four camper cabins have electricity. One camper cabin has electric and water. All camper cabins are furnished and include a picnic table and fire ring.
Yurts:
Though generally classified as a tent, the yurt is much stronger and weather-tight. Our yurts are a circular structure that consist of a durable fabric cover, tension band and a wood frame that includes a lattice wall, radial rafters, central compression ring and a framed door.
Yurt rentals are a unique offering only at Tomlinson Run and are perfect for the novice camper. You may rent a five-person yurt, complete with a cooler, a propane stove, lantern, picnic table and cookware, and one set of bunk beds. Two yurt sites are available at the park.
Shelters:
Need an area for a picnic or family get-together? The park offers four picnic shelters which can be reserved by the day for a modest fee. Otherwise, picnic shelters are available on a first-come, first served basis, so be sure to reserve in advance if you’ve got something special planned!

in the last weekIt's nice for people who are close, but I wouldn't make it a destination. People exceed the speed limit, and there is no sidewalk area along the road, so you have to constantly be on guard. Yesterday, we found half a dozen piles of dog poop that were not cleaned up. The bathrooms are usually not open until around Memorial Day; although to their credit, they have had some open since mid-April this year. It is such a lovely park, but the above is very frustrating.

5 months agoLarge beautiful park with plenty of well traveled trails of various elevation for all to see. Theres a lake with kayak rentals near the dam. Very picturesque and has a few historical sites left over on the dynamite trail

10 months agoBeautiful campground with lots of wildlife and things to do close by. We had to work at leveling our rig on the gravel pad, but the site is perfect with deer walking through. Enjoyed a walk around the park where we saw the owl. We are looking forward to trying the pool, disc golf course, and taking in a drive-in movie. Worthwhile adventure for sure!

10 months agoTry the moni golf. It looks boring and easy but don't judge a book by its cover. I love dunking my feet in water at the paddle boats. Overall, it's just a relaxing experience and a beautiful day.

10 months agoI always visit Tomlinson for a day trip especially around the Fall because the Trees put on a show. Has a field, nice peaceful lake, as well as trails.
