As a Brooke county native who moved away from an area with a strong Italian influence, I’d been craving true Italian for years. La Cucina went above and beyond in filling that desire. The atmosphere was relaxed, with lots of chatter from the families in the restaurant which really adds to the authentic experience of Italian dining(in my opinion). The server was quick, accurate, and professional. The food was out of this world. Fresh pasta, homemade rolls were to die for, and the sauce was perfection. The chicken was tender and juicy, easy to cut with a fork and seasoned well. The tiramisu… excuse me while I wipe the drool off my phone screen. Only downside is that I’m 5 hours away and craving this restaurant! Absolutely will visit every time I come home. Well done!

If you love overpriced food, hidden charges and mediocre food, then this is the place for you. My wife and I each ordered the chicken parm at $22 per plate. The chicken was a little dried out and bland, with a side of undercooked rigatoni with sauce, a side salad and no bread because we were told that the “complementary” bread was our bread for the meal. We were asked if we wanted cheese on our salad which my wife was charged $2 for mozzarella and I was charged $6 for 2 quarter sized pieces of goat cheese! We did not even get or was asked if we wanted a Parmesan cheese shaker. I am actually surprised the refills were free. We had the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer, which was probably the best tasting thing, but not worth $15. There was only 3 small button style mushrooms tops with crab and cheese sauce. Overall we spent $93 for 2 people (tip included). If you pay by credit card there is an up charge, which is ridiculous! Being refused the complimentary bread that was clearly listed above the appetizers, extremely high prices and mediocre food, I would just say do yourself a favor and make this place a pass. There are much better options in the area.

I’m not sure how this place has such high ratings. Maybe I ordered the wrong things, maybe it was an off day, IDK. I will say that the apps and desserts were really good. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Other than that, it was pretty bad. I ordered the Veal Romano and it was so dry and tough. The breading was straight up scrambled egg and there was no Romano cheese or sauce on it. When I asked the owner if it should have a sauce she tried to tell me I didn’t know how Veal Romano was made and that her way was the correct way. Not an ideal response. She did then offer to make me a piccata sauce to put on it, which was fine. The prices are outrages for the quality and location. A bottle of wine cost us $50. In all we spent OVER $100 per person, (app, meal, dessert, wine, tip) including the credit card fee they don’t tell you about.

Family owned and loved by locals. The rolls are incredible. Everything was delicious.

I went to dinner with my Dad here for his birthday. I dare say this was probably the best food that either of us have ever had. Once we tried the Mozzarella sticks we ordered more than we could ever handle. I have never seen him happier. It is a little pricey, but you are paying for quality. This is the best quality in the area. Hands down. Go there and ask for Deidra. She was phenomenal. I will 200% be going back. Most other restaurants are dead to me now.
