Experience the thrill and excitement of sporting clay shooting at Coal Ridge Sporting Clays, here in the rolling hills of Weirton, West Virginia.

Coal Ridge Sporting Clays is a state-of-the-art shooting facility just 25 minutes from Pittsburgh International Airport. The course is located on the reclaimed site of a former coal mine and offers picturesque views of the surrounding 350-acre farm.

The sporting clays course was designed by Marty Fischer, a world-renown designer and consultant for outdoor shooting facilities, and consists of 15 covered stations, all of which are unique and are large enough for you and your team to get out of the weather.

The facility offers a variety of additional shooting games including a wobble trap, 5-stand, and dove field. You can enjoy riding in one of our electric golf carts as you move through the course, taking in the beauty of the hills and surrounding nature.

This is a top-rate facility, run by people who genuinely care about the customer experience. CRSC is a newer facility, built within the past 5 years. Despite it being new, they have a beautiful course, well laid out to take advantage of the topography, so there’s plenty of variety in the targets you’ll face. Overheads, crossers, mixed speeds, rabbits- it’s all there. There are a couple of decent sized hills, so most folks will opt for a cart- but it can be walked if you’re in for a good hike. The clubhouse is large, and in a tournament, they lay out a great spread of food. They are still improving it, but you won’t be lacking for anything while you’re here. Most importantly, the owners and staff are *serious* about making sure you have a great experience. Nate (at the front desk) posts his cell number, and he’ll come out on course to fix a machine if you’re having an issue. Today I was shooting a round, and he showed up at station 12 “just because [he] hadn’t heard from [me], and wanted to make sure everything was going well.” At $60/ round, it’s not “cheap”, but it’s reasonably priced for what you’re getting. Facility is 45 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. Well worth the trip.

Coal Ridge has quickly become one of my favorite sporting clays courses. Nate and all the staff are friendly and accommodating. The course is challenging, and the lodge is top-notch. I've really enjoyed the events such as the Burger Blast where the food has been excellent. If you love sporting clays, visiting Coal Ridge should be on your list!

Very impressed that we have such a nice course so close to the Pittsburgh area. I’ve been there twice now. Very challenging and very fun. I’m looking forward to many more visits!

Challenging and fun course. Very well run. Each station has the presentation of the clays to be shot written out. The phone number for management is listed at each station and if there is any issue, they are incredibly responsive- arriving by golf cart to address. Golf carts are the nicest and most powerful I have seen.
