Alice S Quinn (Sherry) has lived in Hancock County most of her adult life. She was born in Doddridge County on a farm, where she lived until she was eleven years old. There, Quinn spent time reading, telling stories, working hard, and creating her own art. Her art teacher at Weirton Jr. High, Mrs. Pesta, was who helped encourage Quinn’s creativity.

Quinn married her husband Carl in 1959. Together they raised three children, Theresa, Elly, and Troy. Her children share her love for creating art. Theresa and her husband create metal art. Elly, Theresa, and Sherry work together to make paintings. Troy enjoys drawing.

Quinn worked in Weirton and Steubenville as a licensed optician until 2003. She is now finding time to enjoy art and create. She is currently a member of the Top of West Virginia Arts Council and has work displayed in the Summit Art Gallery. Much of Sherry’s artwork features landscapes, birds, and flowers. She also does acrylic pours to create colorful, abstract pieces.

You can shop for Sherry’s artwork at the Top of West Virginia CVB’s Summit Art Gallery, located at 3539 Main Street, Weirton, WV.
